Critical Incident - 2018-01-15 What happened? During the weekly update of package repositories yesterday, some scripts and binaries that were only meant to be installed on our internal infrastructure were incorrectly pushed to all users. The updates that contained the offending content were only available for a short window (less than 24 hours) and have now been removed from all official mirrors. The update contained an experimental cryptocurrency miner and its configuration files.

AMDGPU and Linux growing pains Posted on Jun 24, 2017

Some of you may be aware that FGRLX is dead and AMDGPU-PRO is the new proprietary (hybrid) driver. Some of you may still be using the radeon driver on AMD HD7XXX or R9 2XX (SI/CIK) video cards. This will most likely change in the future. Methods of switching are being discussed for 4.13 kernel AMDGPU-PRO There have been a few questions I’ve noticed about having issues with HDMI audio over AMDGPU and/or people asking when AMDGPU-PRO will be be supported.

Dear users, I’m glad to announce the new Sabayon 16.06 RaspberryPi image. This month you can enjoy the new Media Center release which features Kodi optimized for the Raspberry Pi model 2 and 3. To celebrate that, we also upgraded the Base image, which comes now with the latest packages from the repositories. The image comes out of the box with the latest 4.4.y kernel and with the rpi-update The Media Center image is working as-is Out-of-the-Box and will also perform auto-upgrades automatically on your behalf.

ARM meet Sabayon, Sabayon meet ARM. Posted on Apr 30, 2016

We are glad to announce the immediate availability of Sabayon ARM (hfp) for Raspberry Pi 2 and 3. This is our first step towards ARM support, the package release scheduling will be different from our amd64 variant. Updates will be on a period of 6 months, except for security or special updates. The image comes out of the box with the latest 4.4.y kernel and with the rpi-update tool that can be used to update kernel and firmware.
